Comedian Alan Davies is set to open this year’s Isle of Arts event, according to iwcp.co.uk.
Fans of ‘Jonathan Creek’ or ‘QI’ who happen to be on Isle of Wight breaks on April 19th may catch a glimpse of the star, who will also perform a comedy set on April 20th.
An Isle of Arts representative, Gillian Jenner, explained why the star is so well placed to open the event. She said: “Alan’s acute brand of surreal observational story telling has arrived to much acclaim.
“The tour that started at the Edinburgh Fringe last year has been honed, refined and perfected in places such as the Sydney Opera House, Auckland Town Hall and London’s Hackney Empire. And now we’ve got him in Ventnor!” Jenner proclaimed excitedly, writing for islandpulse.co.uk.
Isle of Arts will also see well-known Ska band The Skatonics take to the stage. They’ll be bringing some “classic sounds” from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, Jenner added. A comedy drama, ‘Austentatious: An Improvised Novel’, will also take place at the Isle of Arts event; a piece based on Jane Austen.
The event will take place from April 19th – April 21st in Ventnor. Those opting to attend can take advantage of a special bus deal on offer, which Artsisle.org has plenty of information on.
